CHRISTMAS SHOPPING!! humbug!

OK, before I get started on this entry, I am not anti-Christmas. I am anti-commercialism when it comes to Christmas. I have fond memories of Christmas as a child, who wouldn't, we had the traditional rotating aluminum tree complete with the ever changing red, blue and green light wheel.
I totally dislike, no hate, going into any place retail and seeing Halloween candy in the same aisle as the Christmas decorations! I'm not referring to after Halloween candy, I'm talking about Oct 15th!

So when Stacy said we were going Christmas shopping this past weekend, I could feel the fun coming a full week ahead. I'm not one for crowds or the crazies I know would be out, but people get more stupid this time of year.

It's all about sales and and not about Christ, oh no, can't have Christ in Christmas anymore, but give me your cash, cause you gotta have a new TV. Get in line at midnight, risk your life and get trampled for an electronic hamster.
While your at it take down the Nativity scene at the local park because the ACLU decides what is right for our community.
We started Saturday at the place most Saturdays start, Wally's. Check out this website if you don't believe me that the crazies are out. www.thepeopleofwalmart.com
This exercise stuff was on sale, I've got one at the house. I should use it more, which I plan to do. According to a good friend you should park these next to the laundry room, because for most, they will become clothes hangers. Then it was off to Dollar Tree to look through the 100's of rolls of wrapping paper. My lovely wife Stacy, sometimes can't remember some details of little things, but she can remember what wrapping paper we used for the past 2o years so we dug through every roll to find just the right ones.
By then it was time to grab something to eat. We have the same conversation each and every time we go to eat. I want to take her to where she would like to go, and she says she can't decide and for me to pick. So I whipped into Micky D's for a quick meal. After lunch we went next door to Logan's for some gift cards.
The it was off to the OG for gift cards. Here's a curious question. If we were going to Logan's and the OG for gift cards, why didn't we eat lunch there?
Now we had to go to Kohl's because Stacy had a 15% off coupon, and 15% is better than 0% right? Yep. But if you don't spend it, can you save 100%? Nope.
Next stop? My second favorite place in the world, right after the dentist.
The Mall.
First stop was the Gap, honestly I thought she had been kidnapped she was in there for so long. After the Gap, I became the pack mule.
After the mall, more gift cards.

Finally, a place I could shop and look around. I did enjoy myself during the day as I love to people watch and there was a lot to look at. But most of all, I got to spend the day with Stacy so I overlooked the crowds and the commercialism.

Christ is the reason for the Season.

I just wish more people would remember that.

My 52nd Birthday Party

While Stacy will be the first to admit she should never be the one that people give cameras to and ask if she could take their photo. I have to admit she is getting better. These are a few of the ones she took with all the girls at the house for my birthday party.
Me opening gifts from the girls, Reese's, cigars, a Bass Pro Shop gift card and an framed eagle print with a calendar.
Me displaying all my goodies.

Emma loves David, here she is snuggling up to her David.
All of us enjoying everyone being there.
I will forever look back at these photos as a reminder of the wonderful time I had with my girls.
A picture is worth a thousand words.

Riverview Cemetary-Hopkinsville KY

I had a nice ride out to Hopkinsville after church, I took the bike because you don't get too many 75 degree days in November. The reason for the ride is I researched some geocaches in Christian County largest cemetery, Riverview.

The road entering the cemetary from the first entrance off of S. Virginia.

The half full trees and the colors were an interesting contrast against the sky.
I love the shadows of these place.

Amazing there was no one else, except for the caretaker on site.

The Hille plots, history all over the place.
World War I Memorial.Edgar Cayce, the "Sleeping Prophet" is buried here somewhere. Guess he didn't see this coming.

Riverview also has a great number of Confederate Soldiers buried here as well.
You really want to know about your community, check out the cemetery for a real lesson.

Time Out

Lisa has been using the "Time Out" punishment for Emma. Lisa is trying her best to be a good momma and setting limits for Emma and when Emma crosses the line it's time out.
Only problem is Nana and Poppy who love to look at her in time out cause she is so cute sitting there talking to herself.
Poppy got in trouble for taking this picture of Emma in time out. What are Poppy's for anyway?

Nichole's Old Maid Celebration

Friday night ended with what is known as Nichole's birthday month, yes month. Some celebrate birthdays, some stretch it to a week, not Nichole, it's a month.
She has worn her little crown for her birthday for as long as I can remember,
which seems like a lifetime now since she is now over 30. She don't look a day past 25 (according to her.) The girls are blessed with Stacy's genes, all the girls look younger than they are.
Nichole checking out the birthday gifts, she got some purses and old lady stuff.

Chilling for the rest of the evening.

Now that she has passed 30, she will be 40 sooner than she thinks.
