Can You Really Do Too Much Into a Weekend?

Have you ever wondered just how much you can do in two days? This weekend started off as one Stacy and I knew would be busy, we just didn't realize just how busy until Sunday night. We started out by having dinner with friends on Friday night at Ruby Tuesday. The waiter was new, and not as good as those at Olive Garden (OK, girls you got your plug).

We had also agreed to keeping Emma for the night while Lisa and Scott went out with some of their friends. Scott dropped Emma off a little after seven with Mandy as we were still at dinner.

When we returned from dinner it was time to spoil our granddaughter, which we did. No bedtime for Emma at Nana's house.

Emma and Pop got up early on Saturday morning and shared oatmeal and apricot preserves, juice and animal crackers. After breakfast, Nana got up and joined us to get ready for the day.

What Emma sees, Emma does.

None of the women in my family, not Stacy, Nichole, Mandy, Lisa and now Emma can walk past a mirror without stopping and fixing their hair.

While Nana and Emma finished getting ready, Pop went to Starbucks for a venti mocha skinny no whip.

I took the bike.

After my bike ride, I returned home and enjoyed the rest of the morning with Stacy and Emma. After Emma got picked up by Lisa, Stacy and I went to lunch at CiCi's Pizza on Madison St. This was the first CiCi's that I enjoyed. The food was hot, fresh and the bar was stocked with a good array of pizzas. After lunch it was off to the Clarksville/Montgomery county library for the annual Poplar Hill Home Owners Association meeting.

I have been wanting to make a change in our neighborhood, so I decided to run for association president. There was another running as well, after both of us were asked to present to the group what qualified us for the job, I was elected. Stacy was elected treasurer.

After the excitment of the HOA meeting it was time to relax, so we met with our friends Don and Bonnie. We got into the hot tub, grilled brats and played card games for the rest of the evening.

Sunday morning was a blessing as the Lord's day began. Grace Community Church has started a new series.Grace meets at 9 and 11am on Sunday morning at Rossview high school. I encourage everyone to attend this interesting series and to bring a friend.

After the 9am service, our community group met for brunch at the Golden Corral. The nice thing about going to the Corral this time of day is after you get breakfast, they start to put the lunch items on the buffet, so you can eat both. Since I was planning on golfing later in the afternoon, I needed to load up on carbs. After eating as much as I did, Stacy informed me, "we're riding, not walking." I was full for the rest of the day.

After brunch it was on to WalMart, you know it was going to happen, just go with it.

I had to get on the intercom and ask, "Do you have Paula Dean in a jar?"

WELL YOU BETTER LET HER OUT!

After brunch, and after Walmart it was on to the South Nine at Eastland Green for some golf! The weather was fantastic, a little breezy, but I love the wind.

All my girls had plans for Superbowl Sunday so we were going to spend the evening relaxing before we started back to work on Monday. On the ninth fairway, Chad Hunley called me to see what if we had plans for the game. Typical man answer? No plans, what time is kick off? After committing, I told Stacy the great news! We were going to Chad and Brenda's for the game!

I should have checked with Stacy before I accepted the invitation, but we had talked about not having plans and what we would do for the evening. So when Chad called I put two and two together and got half the answer.

She saw it a little different than I did, she really wanted to relax before the work week. So we compromised, I would go over before kickoff and she would join us later. She arrived soon after the start of the game. We had a great time of fellowship and football, watched the game and the commercials. At halftime, Stacy excused herself and went home to get ready for the week.

I stayed and watched one of the best Superbowl games I have seen in a long time. I want to thank Chad and Brenda for the grilled cheese sandwiches and that awesome dip.

I got home a little after nine to find Stacy wiped out and ready for bed. Little did we both know she was coming down with a nasty stomach bug. We finally got into bed around 10pm.
I reached out at 3 am like I do every morning, no matter if I am traveling or not. I was alarmed, as I always am when I can't touch her. She was in the bathroom not doing too well.
Before leaving for work, I checked on her again and made sure she had everything she needed.
I came home early to take care of her, our neighbor had already been here and looked in on her, gave her some chicken soup and ginger ale. I cancelled our community group meeting for this evening to keep our group from getting whatever Stacy has. She is feeling better tonight, continue to keep her in your prayers.

So, can you do too much in a weekend? Depends on who you ask, I still wanted to hit the river and go kayaking.

Stacy says I'm nuts.
